Ben turned 9 months last week and was not feeling well, so I decided not to write about his "birthday" then...
He is such a delight. Although I have probably said this at every stage, I think this is my favorite age. He is interactive, silly, and we can see his personality developing. He loves to play, walk holding our hands, and has recnetly started standing unassisted for a few seconds. He babbles, saying "dada, rara (we think its mama), uh-oh (sortof), baba." Hes just starting shrieking by inhaling, sometimes coughing on his saliva...its a very weird sound and he gets the biggest kick out of it! Since recovering from his illness last week, he is starting to eat better again, and is getting more proficient with his fine pincer grasp to pick up Cheerios.
The best thing of all is that he's starting (and I say this cautiously) to get the hang of the sleep thing. The last two nights he's slept through the majority of the night (phew!) and he's taking longer (1-2 hour) naps. We're in heaven! And he seems to be happier, too.
Life is good. This is the best(and maybe the most challenging) thing we have ever done, thanks to this great gift to us. We continually give thanks to God for this wonderful blessing.
